Song Dynasty Iron Pagoda-style Infantry Armor, including a breastplate and helmet, wearable for men.
“铁浮屠” originally means “Iron Pagoda” or “Iron Buddha Pagoda”. It broadly refers to heavily armored soldiers during the Song and Jin dynasties. Their armor, covering a large area and providing reliable protection, made them appear like an iron tower when worn. The main body of the Iron Pagoda armor is made of round-headed riveted plates, and its helmet, known as the ‘Encircling Helmet,’ is a classic component of Song armor. When the neck guard is lowered, it can cover the face and neck completely, making the wearer resemble an iron tower. The term “Iron Pagoda” thus originated from this appearance.
